Story Of Idul Adha
One night Ibrahim had
a bad dream. He dreamt Allah told him to sacrifice his son, Ismail. Ibrahim
though it was Shaytan playing nasty trick on him. But the next night , Ibrahim
had the same horrible dream again and again. And then Ibrahim knew that Allah
would only ask him to do such a thing if he had a good reason. Even though he
loved his son, he must to do this difficult thing from Allah.
Ibrahim
told Ismail they had to go to Mount Arafat. He brought a knife and rope on him.
On the way, they passed in a place called Mina. The Shaytan came to Ibrahim and
tried to talk him to out of sacrificing his son. But he would not listen to the
Shaytan.
When
they reached Mount Arafat, Ibrahim told Ismail what Allah wanted him to do.
Ismail listened and accepted what was to happen. He was an extraordinary chil
and a great prophet too. Ismail told his father to tie his hand and legs, and
blindfold himself so he wouldn’t see this sacrifice. And then Ibrahim did what
Ismail said. Then he took the knife and did what Allah told him to do. When he
took the blindfold from his eyes, he looked down. He had surprised. There was
not his son, but a dead lamb. Ismail was at his side. Ibrahim was afraid, he
though Ismail had disobeyed. But he heard a voice telling him not to worry.
Allah protected Ismail from this sacrifice and changed him with a lamb. Ibrahim
and ismail had passed a difficult test from Allah.
Each
year, during the month of Dhul Hijjah, many Moslems from all over the world
pilgrim to Mecca. They want to
remember what Ibrahim and Ismail did They give a sacrifice like goat, sheep,
cow, and camel as Allah commanded Ibrahim to do.
From
this story, we can take manny lesson. We must obbey what Allah command, we obey
by doing the things we know are right, praying, obeying our parents and always
telling the truth.
